We are tremendously lucky to have a wealth of herb and salad growers on our doorstep and are therefore able to sell salad packs - filled with an amazing variety of leaves - and a wide selection of lettuce throughout the year. All are organic and some are bio dynamic too.

Staverton is supplied with organic leaves from Old Cummings Farm, Velwell, and Riverford Organics. Mixed pack contain everything from purslane, red mustard, mizuna, rocket and oakleaf lettuce to young spinach and cultivated dandelion - and often some edible flowers too. We are also supplied with bags of rocket, watercress, young rainbow chard leaves and spinach. In summer the cold shelves are filled to bursting with lettuce of various descriptions, cherry tomatoes and vine from Riverford and a giant basket of leaves and flowers is available to those who want to choose their own leaves.

Fresh basil, rosemary, sage, chervil, bay, thyme, mint, chives, tarragon, coriander (and others... ) and of course good old parsley are available in packs or often ready to weigh yourself so be sure to grab plenty of basil to make your own pesto! Many will find their way into salad packs too, and I think you'll find that the supermarket bags are very pale in comparison to the ones our suppliers produce.
